Just after 9 pm the Citgo station in Splendora was robbed at gunpoint. The male yielding a rifle fled in a Ford pickup. Dispatchers immediately put the information out on the radios. Within minutes several Precinct 4 patrol units on US 59 spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle sped up and refused to stop. As speeds reached over 100 mph the pursuit entered the City of Houston. Houston Police were notified and joined in the pursuit with Montgomery County deputy’s and Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputies. The chase continued until they reached 610 and Hempstead Road in the as they were about to enter the West Loop the suspect was forced off the road and crashed.
He has been arrested and is being questioned at this time. There were no injuries at the store.
