SPLENDORA STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENT AT HIGH SCHOOOL

It took Splenrdora ISD Chief Rex Evans over 6 months to plan an active shooter incident at Splendora High School today. It started as his yearly training at Cleveland as he has done for the past several years. However that all changed when he accepted the position as Chief of Splendora ISD Police. He then started contacting additional Montgomery County Agencies to participate. THe outpouring of agencies wanting to be involved was trememdous. Evans said on the medical side he never realized Montgomery County Hospital District and Cypress Creek EMS had trained SWAT Medics in the organization. Over 100 kids participated in today s event. some were made up with life like injuries. The exercise went full scale with all the local police departments, Montgomery County SWAT, Houston SWAT and several other teams. DPS was also involved as was Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office. Montgomery County Hospital District along with Cypress Creek, Tomballs NW Rural EMS, and HArris County ESD 1 along with Atascocita Fire Departments Medical bus handled the medical along with PHI Air Medical. The victims were transported to local hospitals which were also able to get their disaster training in. Many State of Texas Officials attended to view how the training was being done.
