Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and DPS spotted a stolen trailer just after 630am Sunday traveling south on US 59 near Kingwood. As they tried to stop the vehicle pulling it , the vehicle fled south on US 59 to Sorters Road . Then north on Sorters Road to Kingwood Executive Drive. There the driver drove off the west side of the road and into the woods where at least one or possibly two fled. Currently Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has a dog on the ground searching. Please avoid Sorters Road on South of Kingwood as emergency vehicles and the K-9 remain in the roadway.
They were not able to get a good description on the person or persons as the truck had gone deep into the brush when they fled.
This was the second trailer in several weeks stolen from the New Dollar General under construction on FM 1485 East. The first one belonged to an electrical contractor and was full of electrical supplies. It was blue in color.
The owner of the trailer responded to the scene. A wrecker had to do an extensive recovery of the truck and trailer as severe damage to the truck which took close to two hours. Once the trailer was opened it was discovered a pressure washer, compressors and generators were missing.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies are asking the publics help in identifying the suspect or suspects. Also if anyone has seen the truck involved , you are asked to call Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
