STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED ON I-69

Just before 10pm Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable Buchanan was monitoring Liberty County Sheriff’s Office when he heard a unit attempting to catch up to a stolen vehicle from Rusk County Texas southbound on I-69 approaching Montgomery County. The report continued that the driver of the vehicle was armed and dangerous. Buchanan notified the Montgomery County Dispatcher and began watching for the vehicle. He then learned that On Star was tracking the vehicle and was capable of disabling it when units spotted it. Moments later Deputy Smith who was southbound on I-69 near the Grand Parkway spotted the Chevrolet pickup in front of her. Within seconds multiple units from Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, Roman Forest and Patton Village along with Precinct 4 Deputies stopped the vehicle and took the driver into custody. In the truck they discovered 5 long guns and a pistol under the seat. They learned that Brandon Wright, 31, of Baytown was a former Marine but had no prior felony record. He was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle warrant from Rusk County and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. It was also learned that the vehicle actually belonged to a friend of the family.

Wright remains in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
