STORMS CAUSE DAMAGE AROUND MONTGOMERY COUNTY

With the early morning storms which moved through Montgomery County at highway speed the straight line winds caused extensive damage to some areas. Hardest hit were areas north of SH 105. In Grimes County Anderson suffered damage as did Richards. Then down through the National Forest as trees fell across FM 149, FM 1375 and FM 1791.

It toppled a few trees there and damaged some homes. Several vehicles were also trapped under the trees including a DPS patrol car in Walker County.

The storm moved across Lake Conroe dropping power lines in the Willis and Conroe area.

Hardest hit in the Conroe area was Panorama where residents still remain without power. Close to 100 trees toppled with many homes damaged. Utility poles snapped in two and power lines littering the ground.
