On April 23, 2017, a Deputy with Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s office observed a vehicle being driven north bound on the south bound lanes within the 16000 block of Tomball Parkway. After observing this activity, the deputy acted quickly to stop the vehicle by getting ahead of the vehicle and positioning police spike strips in the roadway to disable the vehicle if necessary. Once the Deputy Constable deployed the spike strips, the driver of the vehicle observed the spike strips in the roadway and came to stop before making contact with them. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Juan A. Escamilla and after field sobriety testing by the Deputy Constable, it was determined Mr. Escamilla was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Juan Escamilla was arrested by Deputies for the offense of Driving While Intoxicated.
Juan A. Escamilla was charged with the offense of Driving While Intoxicated, a Class A Misdemeanor, and booked into the Harris County Jail. The case has been assigned to County Court 12 and a bond of $2,500.00 issued. Mr. Escamilla remains in the Harris County Jail at this time.
