Early Wednesday morning a Patton Village Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Hill and Dale and First Street. As he did the passenger, identified as Benjamin Isaac Holley, 19 of Patton Village jumped out and fled on foot with a backpack. Units from DPS, MCSO, Precinct 4, Roman Forest and Splendora assisted in the search. A short distance away the backpack was found in the ditch. Approximately one-hundred yards away from that a Precinct 4 Deputy spotted Holley lying in the ditch on his back and not moving but still visible. He was immediately taken into custody. A search of the area found a small amount of marijuana and several large bills of currency. The driver had no charges and was released. Holley was charged with tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and possession of marijuana. He was placed int he Montgomery County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
