CONROE- A Montgomery County Grand Jury returned murder indictments on Tuesday against two teens arrested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office November 3, 2008.
Edgar Arturo Sazo, 17, and 18-year-old Edson H. Olvera-Garza, both of Spring, stand accused in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Eugene Posana Villaruel, whose body was discovered by a jogger in Ascot Farms near Magnolia on the morning of Nov. 2, 2008.
Sazo and Olvera-Garza, who were friends and seniors at Westfield High School, allegedly confessed to the brutal murder of their classmate and have since been held in the Montgomery County Jail.
Sazo’s bond was set at $150,000 and Olvera-Garza’s was set at $250,000 with an Immigration Customs Enforcement hold, which would prevent his release even if bond were posted.
MCSO officials revealed that Villaruel’s body had multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck and investigators believed the homicide was motivated by Villaruel’s involvement with Sazo’s 14-year-old sister. Investigators determined the three teens left together to attend a quinceañera, but never arrived.
Sazo turns 18 on February 8.

Two Spring teens indicted Jan. 27, 2009 (see Jan. 28, 2009 article below) on first-degree murder charges in the Nov. 2, 2008 death of their friend and classmate, will be arraigned on Wednesday in the 221st District Court of Judge Suzanne Stovall in Conroe.

Prosecutors in the case are Assistant District Attorneys Stella Stevens and Mike Shirley.
Both suspects and the victim still have pages displayed on the social networking site MySpace.com. Villaruel’s default MySpace photo was updated giving him wings and a halo. His friends continue to post messages to him, many expressing how the miss him and some updating him on their lives.
According to Sazo and Olivera-Garza’s pages, both planned to become U.S. Marines after their graduation, which should have been this year, along with Villaruel.
