As parents of schoolchildren throughout Montgomery County prepare for their children’s first day back Monday night, Carol Kitchen is heartsick because she has no idea where her 14-year-old daughter has gone or been taken. On December 29, Kitchen’s daughter, Missy Taylor of Grangerland, disappeared along with 16-year-old Kaitlyn Lee (McCrory) of Willis.
The girls left behind their cell phones after performing a factory reset and removing their SIM cards. Missy, a student at Moorehead Junior High in Grangerland, also deactivated her Facebook account.
The girls took most of their clothing, as well as pillows and blankets. Missy’s family says there was no warning.
They believe the last time the girls were seen was at the church on the corner of Hwy 242 and Old Houston Road around 1 p.m. Thursday.
Their disappearance has been reported to police, but doesn’t meet the criteria for an Amber Alert.
Francis “Missy” Taylor is about 5 feet tall, 110 lbs.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at (936) 760-5871.
