texaco reopens after suspicious device is found

Close to 7:00 p.m. tonight a suspicious device was found near the building of Ashley’s Valley Ranch Texaco at 22510 U.S. 59 between Community Drive and FM 1314.  The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded and notified the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office when they were not able to identify it either.

Assistant Fire Marshal’s Daren Hess and Joe Manz responded to the scene and requested Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the Houston Bomb Squad.

Once the bomb squad arrived and suited up it their protective gear they moved inn to x-ray the device with a portable x-ray machine. Still not sure about the device it was secured and taken to their lab.

Many people driving down the feeder trying to buy the $3.39 gas were disappointed when they were not able to enter the parking lot.

The store reopened just after 9:00 p.m.
