On December 7th 2016, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman’s Office was working traffic on Timber Forest Drive in Atascocita. During traffic enforcement in the area the deputy located a vehicle that was recently stolen at gun point, by 3 males, in the 11300 block of Suburban Road.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop on this stolen vehicle, occupied by 3 males, and was able to immediately take the driver, identified as Adrian Maruska, into custody and one passenger, identified as Jaron Sanders. The second passenger, identified as Brandon Roberson, fled on foot. A police perimeter was set up by responding Constable Deputies. A Pct 4 K9 unit and helicopter assistance were called to the scene to assist in the search for this second passenger. Roberson was quickly apprehended.

“An investigation into this incident resulted in the arrest and filing of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle on Adrian Maruska. His bond is set at $2,000.00 out of the 180th District Court. Jaron Sanders was arrested for an open Criminal Mischief warrant issued out of County Court 13 and his bond is set at $500.00. Brandon Roberson was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest/Detention. His bond is set at $1,000.00 out of County Court 10.”- said Constable Mark Herman.

The original carjacking case remains open and under investigation. Additional criminal charges may be filed once the investigation is completed.
