Earlier this afternoon a 2007 Mazda 3 was turning onto FM 1314 from the Porterwoods Apartments near the intersection of Partners Way. As they did a 2002 pickup driven by Brian Whiddon, who was southbound on FM 1314 was unable to stop and slammed into the Mazda nearly ripping the left rear passenger area away. A female who was in the backseat had to be cutout by Porter firefighters.
Life Flight had been dispatched but due to the 18 minutes waiting for their arrival MCHD transported the female to Hermann Hospital in Houston in critical condition.
FM 1314 had been closed between I-69 and Partners Way due to the crash and setting up for a Life Flight landing on the Road. Several units were called for to assist in traffic control as drivers were cutting through parking lots and driveways.
Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy Ricky Warwick was running northbound on FM 1314 from the freeway in the center lane with lights and siren. As he approached the scene Aerin Griebette, who was driving a Malibu turned into the turn lane striking the patrol car in the right rear.
Moments later another vehicle was driving northbound in the center turn lane when a female driver also stuck in traffic made a U-turn into the other vehicle.
There were no other injuries in the three crashes beside the passenger of the Mazda.
FM 1314 has reopened.
