Traffic Stop leads to Meth arrest

On May 15, 2019, Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables Department made a traffic stop on Turtle Dove Ln near Nichols Sawmill Rd.
Deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle who was later identified as Robert Amador of Magnolia, Texas. Deputies could see that Amador was extremely nervous and was shaking all over his entire body. Amador was asked if there was anything illegal in his vehicle and he stated that he did not have anything illegal in his vehicle. Amador gave the Deputies consent to search his vehicle at that time.
The Deputies began searching the vehicle with Amador’s consent and were able to find a clear plastic baggie containing methamphetamine. The methamphetamine was tested using a field test kit and it did test positive for methamphetamine. The substance was weighed on a digital scale and showed to be 28.9 grams.
Amador was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 between 4 grams and 200 grams, a second-degree felony. Deputies took Amador to the Montgomery County Jail and released him to Jail staff.
Constable Chris Jones comments: “The Precinct 5 Constable’s Office will continue to aggressively pursue drug traffickers in and around Montgomery County. We have a great community with a lot of great people in it and we will do our part to keep them safe.”
