TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO THE ARREST OF A WANTED FEMALE IN POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE AND MALE FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE IS INVALID

On December 4, 2019, at approximately 4:47 A.M., a deputy with Constable Mark Herman’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in 2700 North Sam Houston Parkway West. The driver was identified as Jamari
Martinez and the passenger identified herself as Maria Lopez. During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, the Constable Deputy located 17.9 grams of Carisoprodol. Maria Lopez took ownership of the controlled substance. Further investigation revealed that she provided a false name and date of birth and she was then positively identified as Andrea Delacruz and found to have 5 open warrants of her arrest.
“Jamari Martinez and Andrea Delacruz were arrested and booked into the Harris Couty Jail. Jamari was charged with Driving While License Invalid and Andra Delacruz was arrested for her open warrants and charged with Fail to Identify as a Fugitive and Possession Control Substance PG4 < 28g.
