TRAFFIC STOP YIELDS FELONY DRUG ARREST

On June 2, around 3 p.m., a Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable’s Deputy assisted the Montgomery Police Department on a traffic stop at FM2854 and Havenshire. A blue, Chevrolet Trailblazer was observed driving erratically and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 28-year-old Damien O’Neal Jones of Nacogdoches, Texas

After investigation and receiving consent to search the vehicle, 35 Ecstasy tablets, a small amount of marijuana and a handgun were recovered from inside the Chevrolet Trailblazer.   Jones was charged with second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1 (more than 4 grams, but less than 200 grams).

Additional misdemeanor charges were refused. Jones was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
