TRASH FIRE TURNS INTO HOUSE FIRE

For the second night Cut and Shoot firefighters assisted by North Montgomery and Caney Creek Fire Departments have to brave a heat index of close to 100 degrees fighting yet another house fire.

This fire at 7:45pm was in the 13400 block of Highway 105 East near Millmac. When firefighters arrived they had heavy smoke and fire coming out of a mobile home. They were able to quickly suppress the fire but not before it did significant damage to the interior and to the contents.

After a walk around it was noted a burn pit was still burning and the grass and leaves from it appeared to have caught the trailer on fire. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office will be investigating this fire and determine a cause sometime this weekend.

The resident was out of town at the time of the fire.
