Montgomery County has transported the red pickup involved in the attempted robbery and assault on the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Saturday night. THe deputy who was off duty in plain clothes had stopped at the Shell Station at Sorters and Summer Hills for ice. His 1 ton truck was hooked up to a trailer with his four wheeler loaded and ready to head to the deer lease. His wife waited outside in the truck. As he returned to the truck 2 black males approached him and took him to the ground. As they attempted to get his billfold they were kicking him in the head. It was then his wife exited the vehicle and came around to help her husband. She was armed and discharged several shots at the suspects as they ran for the red Chevrolet truck. The deputy was then able to retrieve his pistol and also fire.
Houston Police recovered the truck,off Homestead Road in Northeast Houston., which had been involved in a carjacking several days before n Houston. The owner said they stole his truck while he was with it. The truck has been transported to the Montgomery County Crime Lab to attempt to lift DNA and finger prints or any other evidence, Meanwhile the deputy has returned home with lacerations to his face, several missing teeth and a jaw which is broken in two places. Doctors will wait for the swelling to go down before attempting surgery. Anyone who witnessed the incident or had seen this truck is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
