Just after 10:30 a.m. Friday morning Magnolia Fire Department and MCHD were dispatched to a major accident on Roberts Cemetery at Nichol Sawmill. Magnolia Fire was first to arrive and advised the dispatcher there were two vehicles with heavy damage and what appeared to be two fatalities.
DPS was notified as was the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for traffic control.
MCHD arrived on the scene and confirmed there were two victims deceased and a male that they were going to transport to Tomball Hospital in stable condition.
DPS notified Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Matt Masden who also responded to the scene and pronounced Anne Donlon, 19, a Lone Star College student from Hockley and Katie Walker, 19, also a student from Tomball dead at the scene. He ordered Metcalf Funeral Directors to transport both victims to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
According to Trooper Aldridge, Anne Donlon was driving her 2005 Ford Tarus south on Roberts Cemetery when she entered a curve and on the wet roads the vehicle then went into side skid. This skid took her into the northbound lane and into the path of the of a 2007 Dodge pickup driven by Samuel Espe, 24 who lived just a short distance down Roberts Cemetery. The Dodge then struck the Ford in the side pushing it into Crooked Creek.
