About 9 pm Splendora Police responded to a report of crates lying on the side of the freeway. Units en route had to go into Liberty County to make the turn around due to road construction. The unit came upon a metal crate on wheels dumped on the side of the freeway with priority mail scattered on the side of the road. Two females were attempting to pick some up and started another vehicle stopped and loaded a bunch of packages. While there another unit found another crate about a mile south on the side with packages scattered. One person stated it happened about 730pm when they burst through the back doors of the truck and the truck kept going. Postal Inspectors were alerted. Deputies reloaded mail into the containers and loaded it on J and J Wrecker of Cleveland.
If not the USPS 18-wheelers, these trucks are local contractors. Someone just lost their job. 27 year veteran of the United States Post Office and proud of it. Yes, we care, which is why we kept working during the anthrax threat. Thru bombs, robberies. People attacking carriers for delivering the Bill’s, dog bites, heat, freezes, etc.
It’s the US postal service……surely you don’t expect them to give a damn ?
By the time they get through with their bureaucratic buck passing process and pissy attitudes these items may get delivered by March of 2020
