Victim didn’t give up without a fight

NORTHEAST HOUSTON – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who committed an armed robbery on Jan. 29 at Star Food Market, located at 6835 Mt. Houston Rd.

A 35-year-old male was in the store parking lot when a man approached him brandishing a handgun and demanded his money. The victim did not comply, and even tried to take the pistol. The two men struggled, but the bandit won, getting away with his gun and the man’s money. He then fled with another man in a late-model, blue, 4-door Chevrolet HHR.

The robbers are described as black males, around 20 -25 years old. The gunman is described as 5-feet 11-inches to 6 feet tall, weighing 180 to 190 pounds. He was unshaven, wearing a black jacket over a baggy long sleeved red shirt with dark colored pants and red and black shoes. The second man is described is about 5 feet 11 inches and 180 pounds, wearing a white shirt, light blue faded jeans and a large necklace.

HCSO is asking anyone who may have information about the crime or know the whereabouts of the pair to contact Deputy Matthew Ferguson in the Robbery Division at (713)967-5878 or (832)527-0288.
