DPS has released their final report into the investigation of the crash Tuesday afternoon at 5:30pm. According to DPS, Casey Nicole Harrell, 23, from East Texas was traveling southbound on FM 3083 south of Albert Moorehead Road at a high rate of speed. In the black Toyota Tundra, she was driving was 51, year old, Kelly Jean Pennock of Conroe and a small child. Harrell attempted to pass a vehicle and struck the front portion of the 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on. The Tundra burst into flames as it came to rest in the ditch on the northbound side of the roadway. The child was rescued, however Harrell and Pennock perished in the fire.
The driver of the Tahoe, Jesus Moreno Jr., 26 of Conroe and his fiancée Maria Ibarra, 25 were both killed. Their three children, Robert Moreno, age 2, was flown by PHI Air Medical to Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital with a severe head injury, facial trauma and a broken leg. Twins, Jonathan Moreno and Isay Moreno both age 1 were taken by ground ambulance to Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital. Jesus and Maria were to be married this coming weekend. All three children remain in the hospital in stable condition as does the child from the Tundra.
Today Jesus best friend, who said Jesus was like a brother to him erected two crosses at the crash site.
