WANTED FOR PERFORMING ILLEGAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS

Investigators with Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Emissions Task Force Unit conducted an investigation at Redi Lube State Inspection, located in the 10000 block of North Houston Rosslyn. This location is a State licensed vehicle inspection station allegedly conducting fraudulent vehicle inspections using a procedure called “clean scanning”.

The investigation conducted by Constable Herman’s Office revealed that the suspect, Wilbert Weldon Criswell conducted numerous unlawful inspections over a one year period.

Precinct 4 Investigators filed two felony arrests warrants on Wilbert Weldon Criswell for Tampering with a Governmental Record. He received No Bond out of the 262nd District Court and is currently wanted by law enforcement.

“This type of criminal activity contributes to health threatening pollution. In addition, it affords the opportunity for unsafe vehicles to be driven on a public roadway due to not meeting the minimum safety standards. Illicit money gained from these types of activities is often used to fund other criminal activities.” – Constable Mark Herman
