WEEKLY MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORT-BY LT. DAN NORRIS

District 1 – Lt. Jim Fleming (North County)

On December 20, Deputy C. Santoro stopped a vehicle on a traffic violation in the 2400 block of Crockett Martin Road. The male driver was found to be operating the vehicle with an invalid driver’s license. During the investigation the male was found to be in possession of a dangerous drug and a controlled substance. The 34 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 4:54am and transported to jail.

On December 20, Deputy C. Santoro observed a female stumbling in the middle of the roadway in the area of Cude Cemetery Road and Lake Mist Road. The female was found to be intoxicated on alcohol and marijuana. The 27 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 11:17pm and transported to jail.

On December 21, Deputy K. Berger was sent to a welfare concern in the 16200 block of Hwy 105 E. The Deputy was advised a male driver had pulled his vehicle into a store parking lot and passed out. During the investigation and after speaking to a witness the male was found to be intoxicated. The male admitted he had taken some soma. The 42 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 11:32pm, charged with DWI and transported to jail.

On December 22, Deputies R. Overbay and K Berger were dispatched to the 15100 block of Jack Gibbs Road in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputies met with a female complainant who stated she and her husband had been arguing and it turned physical with the male hitting her on the face with his fist near the lower lip area. The 52 year old male from Willis was arrested at 12:04am, December 23, and taken to jail.

On December 23, Deputy K. Albritton was advised of a hit and run accident in the 11600 block of Pine Circle Drive. On arrival the Deputy was advised by a male complainant that as he was driving on Cochran Road a vehicle passed him and struck the side of his vehicle. The complainant followed the vehicle which had sped off as if trying to elude the complainant. The vehicle, operated by a male driver, turned onto a dead end road and was blocked in by the complainant until law enforcement arrived. The Deputy checked the male who was still behind the steering wheel with the vehicle in gear. The male was found to be intoxicated. The 23 year old male from Willis was arrested at 8:05pm, charged with DWI and failure to stop and give information, and was taken to jail.

A 44 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 8:50pm, December 23, in the 10600 block of Iron Ore Road by Sgt. P. Smith for a failure to appear civil warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a welfare concern. The male was transported to jail.

On December 23, Deputy J. Bourne and other Deputies were notified by an off duty Deputy of a male seen carrying a handgun in a drop leg holster inside a store in the 900 block of W. Montgomery Street. Another male was also seen with a handgun in a drop leg holster getting fuel at the store. Both were wearing camouflage clothing. Both males were confronted by law enforcement and detained for unlawful carrying of a weapon. On inventorying the vehicle they were operating, two prohibited weapons were located. The two males, a 50 year old from Conroe and his nephew, a 24 year old, also from Conroe, were arrested at 9:17pm, charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and two charges of possession of prohibited weapons. Both males were transported to jail.

On December 24, Deputy K. Underwood was sent to the 9800 block of Lazy Oaks Drive in reference to an intoxicated male. The Deputy located the male who was sitting in a cargo van near a residence. The 39 year old male from Houston was arrested at 12:34am and transported to jail.

On December 24, Deputies R. Overbay and K. Berger responded to the 10700 block of Jolin Lane for a family violence assault call. The Deputies met with a male complainant who advised he was sleeping and his girlfriend woke him up. As he was putting on his clothes she punched him with a closed fist on the jaw. She also kicked him in the back. Both had been previously drinking. The 36 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 2:45am and was taken to jail.

On December 24, Deputy J. Kader stopped a vehicle on a traffic violation in the area of Hwy 105 E and FM 1484. Upon speaking with the male driver it was learned the male was operating the vehicle with an invalid driver’s license. The 38 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 11:25am and transported to jail.

On December 26, Deputies R. Overbay and K. Berger were notified of a welfare concern in the 3000 block of Green Forest Road involving a male and a screaming female. The Deputies met with Sgt. C. Rogers who was already on location and detaining the male for public intoxication. The female was also found to be intoxicated. The 48 year old male and 35 year old female, both from Conroe, were arrested at 1:19am and transported to jail.

On December 26, Deputy A. Booher was dispatched to the 15500 block of Dewberry Lane in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputy located a male walking away from the scene and detained him. During the investigation it was learned the male had assaulted his step-father by hitting him on the jaw and ear resulting in the step-father being knocked into a wall damaging it. The 18 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 5:00pm and transported to jail.

A 25 year old male from Cleveland was arrested at 10:11pm, December 26, in the 16000 block of FM 1484 by Deputy R. Overbay for a criminal mischief warrant out of Montgomery County. The male was stopped on a traffic violation. The male was transported to jail.

District 2 – Lt. Brady Fitzgerald (South County)

On December 15, 2010, Deputy Swank was dispatched to a Theft in Progress call on Box Elder Drive. Dispatch advised that an off-duty Houston Police Officer had a male detained, after catching the suspect that had broken into his vehicle. After taking items from the officer’s vehicle, the suspect, 21 year old male from Magnolia, attempted to leave in his truck, but when it would not start he asked for assistance from a person walking by. That person went and got a couple friends to help, one of which was the Houston Police officer. The officer noticed his property in the bed of the truck and detained the suspect. Deputy Swank took the suspect into custody and transported him to the Montgomery County Jail charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

On December 16, 2010, Deputy Jobe arrested a 23-year-old male from Spring on Jewel Point Drive after responding to a Family Violence in progress call. Upon arrival, Deputy Jobe met with both parties and determined that alcohol was a factor in the earlier incident. Due to the suspect’s level of intoxication and his actions, he was clearly a danger to himself and others if left at the home. The suspect was taken into custody to prevent further violence and was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On December 18, 2010, Deputy Rosales arrested 45-year-old male from Spring, after an attempted traffic stop on IH-45. Once Deputy Rosales activated his emergency equipment, the suspect vehicle did not stop. A pursuit ensued with the suspect driving on Brookhaven, Raypine, Oakhurst and finally stopping on Gamewood. The suspect was found to be in possession of crack cocaine at the time of the traffic stop. During transport to the Montgomery County Jail for the Possession of a Controlled Substance and Evading charges, the suspect told Deputy Rosales that his children were home alone and asleep. Sgt. Mullis returned to the home and located the children, still sleeping. Contact was made with the children’s mother, who was out of town on business, and arrangements were made for the children’s care until her return. Additional charges for Abandoning or Endangering a Child were added.

On December 20, 2010, Deputy Roberts responded to a Disturbance call on Binefield Street. Upon arrival, he met with the complainant, who stated that she and her boyfriend had an argument and when she was walking away, he hit her from behind causing her to fall and strike her face on the floor. The complainant had visible injuries to her mouth and nose, and blood on her lips from a laceration to the inside of her mouth. The suspect, 45-year-old male from Spring, was taken into custody, charged with Assault Family Violence, and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without further incident.

On December 22, 2010, Deputy Swank responded to Johnson Supply Company on Spring Hill Drive in reference to its alarm going off. Prior to his arrival on scene, a Shenandoah Officer arrived on scene to see two suspects running from the front of the building. After a brief chase, both suspects were detained until Deputy Swank’s arrival. The suspects, 12-year-old male and 15 year old male both from Spring, had attempted to break into the building using a crowbar. The 15-year-old male was believed to have broken into the same business two days earlier. Both suspects were taken into custody for Attempted Burglary and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility.

District 3 – Lt. Darrel Conn (East County)

On 12/22/10 Deputy Pickerill arrested a 44 year old male at Loop 494 @ Hwy. 59 for a Theft warrant.

On 12/22/10 Deputy Morris was dispatched to the area of Hwy. 242 @ F.M. 1485 in reference to a welfare check. Deputy Morris made contact with a male walking down the road. The male was found to be in possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription. The suspect, a 22 year old male from Spring was arrested and charged with Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

On 12/23/10, Deputy White was dispatched to the 22000 block of Era Ln. in reference to a welfare concern. Upon arrival he found a male lying in the ditch along the roadway. The male was found to be intoxicated. The suspect, a 36 year old male from New Caney was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication for his safety.

On 12/23/10 Deputy Ortiz was dispatched to the Porter Walmart in reference to a Theft in Progress. Upon arrival he learned that the suspect had attempted to steal merchandise from the store. The suspect then attempted to assault a loss prevention officer. An off duty officer observed the incident and attempted to apprehend the suspect and the suspect fled from the officer and attempted to fight him when he reached his vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and on his person a pill of Vicodin was found without a prescription. The suspect, a 25 year old male from Porter was arrested and charged with Assault on a Public Servant, Theft (Felony due to prior history), Evading Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On 12/26/10, Deputy Morris was dispatched to the 27000 block of North Kings Manor Dr. in reference to an Assault call. Upon his arrival he learned that the suspect had slapped the victim and pinned her up against the wall. The suspect, a 21 year old male was arrested and charged with Assault.

District 4 – Lt. David Park (West County)

On December 25th Sergeant Hernandez was dispatched to the 17500 block of Heaton Drive in reference to a Disturbance in Progress. Upon arrival the Sergeant observed a male subject standing in the street with no shirt and carrying a shovel. The Sergeant could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and the subject had blood shot eyes and slow speech. The subject admitted to drinking beer and smoking marijuana just prior to the Sergeant making contact with him. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 25th Deputy Mittag was dispatched to the 30000 block of Campwood Drive in reference to an Intoxicated Female. The homeowner at the location stated the female subject does not live at their residence and did not know how the subject arrived. Deputy Mittag made contact with the subject and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. The subject could not maintain her balance and stated she had been drinking and hitting herself in the head. The Deputy took her into custody for Public Intoxication and transported her to the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 23rd Sergeant Russell conducted a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Jackson Road for speeding. Deputy Everton and his K-9 Partner Ranger arrived on scene. A search of the cab revealed raw Marijuana. The subject was taken into the custody for Possession of Marijuana. The two passengers were released.

On December 23rd Sergeant Sumrall was patrolling the area of South Sulphur Creek and Red Bluff Circle when he observed a group of people walking with several holding cups in their hands. Two male subjects took off running in attempt to get away from the deputy. The Sergeant caught one of the suspects. The subject’s phone rang and the Sergeant answered it and told the subject on the line if he would come back to the patrol car he would let his friend go. The subject came back to the patrol car and was also placed into custody. Both subjects were charged with Evading Arrest or Detention and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 22nd Deputy Tavarez was dispatched to the Spur of 149 and FM 1488 in reference to a Welfare Check. Upon arrival Deputy Tavarez observed a black vehicle on the side of the road. The vehicle was completely off the roadway. The driver a 25 year old male subject was sitting on the driver side with the door open and his legs outside asleep. Upon awaking the subject the Deputy could detect a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person. The subject stated he was on his way home, but did not know where he was. Due to the subject’s state of intoxication and his disorientation, the Deputy believed he was a danger to himself and others. The subject was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 21st Deputy Tavarez was dispatched to the 21000 Block of Fitz Lane in reference to a Burglary. Upon arrival Deputy Tavarez met with the Complainant who advised he was awaken by his son who told him there were four males in their yard. The Complainant retrieved his shot gun and fired twice in the air and hollered at them to come back, but they continued to run. The Complainant walked to the roadway and saw a vehicle parked with a female inside asleep. The female later admitted she knew two of the four boys who had run away. The Deputy called both suspects from the female’s cell phone and they returned to the scene. Sergeant Russell and Deputy Provenzano located the other two suspects. All four suspects were charged with Felony Burglary of Habitation.

On December 19th Sergeant Hernandez was dispatched to 30000 block of Rosebud in reference to an intoxicated female trying to leave the residence in her vehicle. Upon arrival Sergeant Hernandez made contact with the Reportee (family member) who advised his cousin had come home from a bar drunk and he had taken her keys to prevent her from driving. The female subject was determined to get her keys back so she could leave the location and after giving the subject numerous chances to go inside and sleep she was still continuing to try to leave. The Sergeant took her into custody for Public Intoxication and when searching her before transporting her to jail a Marijuana Pipe was found inside her coat pocket with burned residue. An additional charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was added to her charges.

District 5 – Lt. Gary Welch (Northwest County)

On December 21st Deputies Lowe and Durbin responded to the 13100 block of Walden Rd in regards to a Disturbance between two individuals in a vehicles. Officers discovered that two females, mother and adult daughter, had become involved in a verbal altercation while in the vehicle. The subjects then stopped their vehicle and continued the altercation while standing in the road. Officers determined the daughter was intoxicated. This female was arrested for Public Intoxication along with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and placed into the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 22nd Deputy Lowe responded to Mt Mariah Cut Off Road in regards to a Disturbance. It was learned that a verbal altercation had taken place between two adult siblings where the brother had made several threats of serious bodily injury to his sister. The male subject was arrested for Terroristic Threat (Family Member) and placed into the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 23rd Deputy Davis was dispatched to a noise Disturbance located within an apartment complex in the 19700 block of SH 105 W. Deputy’s located a male standing in the complex that had been reported causing the disturbance and determined that he was highly intoxicated. The male, a non-resident of the complex, was arrested for Public Intoxication and placed into the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On December 25th Deputy Favorat responded to a residence on FM 1097 West in regards to an Assault. Investigation revealed that a male subject physically assaulted his mother-in-law during an altercation inside the home. The male was arrested for Assault and placed into the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On December 26th Sgt. Peckne responded to Mohawk Drive in regards to an Assault. It was learned that a male individual reported being assaulted by his wife during a minor altercation in their home. The female was cited for Assault and referred to the Justice Court for Prosecution. Both parties separated for the evening.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Woodlands)

On December 16, 2010, Deputy Veith was dispatched to 4545 South Panther Creek in reference to a suspicious person call. Deputy Veith arrived on scene and made contact with the suspect, 20-year-old male from The Woodlands. The suspect stated he was waiting on his friend, but did not know the apartment number. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was found to have three clear plastic bags containing marijuana. The suspect was taken into custody, charged with Possession of Marijuana, and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On December 17, 2010, Deputy Epperson and Deputy Knight were dispatched to a Disturbance call on Concord Forest Circle. Upon arrival, they met with the complainant who stated her son left with some other boys in a truck without permission, and she thought she smelled marijuana in the vehicle. An attempt to locate was aired for the truck, which was later located at 6700 Woodlands Parkway. The vehicle was occupied by five males ages 15-16 all from The Woodlands. During the course of the investigation, two of the boys (one 15 year old and one 16 year old) were found to be in possession of marijuana. They were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility in Conroe. The other three boys received citations for Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Minor in Possession of Tobacco and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The following Shoplifting Arrests were reported:

12/16 – Deputy Godden arrested a 40 year old female from Houston, for Theft at 3040 College Park Drive. The suspect attempted to take $75.96 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart. The suspect removed the $75.96 price tag from the item and replaced it with one for $6.77, then proceeded to the checkout counter to pay for the item. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

12/17 – Deputy Carson arrested 21-year-old female from Missouri City and 26 year old male from Lovelady, for Theft at 3040 College Park Drive. The suspects attempted to take $97.74 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

12/20 – Deputy Evans arrested a 24 year old female and a 17 year old female both from Cleveland, for Theft at 3040 College Park Drive. The suspects attempted to take $189.50 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

12/23 – Deputy Aguilar arrested 28 year old male from The Woodlands for Theft at 3040 College Park Drive. The suspect attempted to take $197.58 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

12/18 – Deputy Conklin arrested 18-year-old female from Porter for Theft at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The suspect attempted to take $109.00 worth of merchandise from JC Penny’s. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident. The suspect received an additional charge for Possession of a Dangerous Drug due to having .2 grams of Phinermin in her possession without a prescription.

12/21 – Deputy Roberts arrested 55-year-old female from Houston, for Theft at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The suspect attempted to take $295.00 worth of merchandise from JC Penny’s. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

12/23 – Deputy Ansley arrested 42-year-old female from Magnolia, for Theft at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The suspect attempted to take $408.00 worth of merchandise from JC Penny’s. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

12/24 – Deputy Rizk arrested a 22 year old female and a 19 year old female both from Montgomery for Theft at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The suspect attempted to take $336.00 worth of merchandise from Dillard’s. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
