woman burned in new caney

At 2:30p.m. Monday afternoon New Caney Fire Department and MCHD responded to a reported explosion in the 19100 block of Big Oak in Acorn Hills Estates. When they arrived they found 74-year-old Tejada Fedela with burns to her elbows and knees. She also has signs of paint on her.

Witnesses said she was burning trash outside when an aerosol paint can exploded. She was transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston in stable condition.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.

This is the second fire related injury in two days.

It is illegal to burn household trash in Montgomery County unless you are on at least 5 acres and are not in a subdivision.
