Lisa Marie Jones, 60, of Porter was sleeping on her bed at 11:35am Monday at a mobile home she shares with her husband on Louis Lane. He husband was in the front of the home when a large oak tree fell onto the house. The tree fell into the bedroom killing Jones. Porter Fire Department was called but determined she was deceased on their arrival. Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 James Metts responded to the scene to perform an inquest. He ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport her to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. According to Metts, with the ground saturated, oak trees have a very shallow root system. With the slightest wind they tend to topple to the side heaviest in limbs. In addition to the death another man became trapped under a tree in the Cut and Shoot area and another near Stidham Road and FM 1314.
