Just after 330am Sunday Todd Rhodes was driving home after a long day on the road. He was just a short distance from his home when his truck left the roadway on Dobbin Huffsmith between Caraway and FM 2978. The right side of his truck road the ditch for an extended distance clipping trees and tree limbs the entire distance. A resident who lives just down the street and is familiar with the sounds of the many crashes on his road in the past 20-years called 911 immediately. When they got to the truck they found Rhodes on the ground, it was not known if he was ejected or crawled out on his own. Two other women had also stopped but then left once they knew help was on the way. MCHD transported Rhodes in critical condition to Memorial Hermann in the Woodlands where he was stabilized but remains in intensive care. Several friends and other drivers rushed to the scene and the hospital to check on their friend. DPS is investigating the crash. Many speculate that he had worked many hours and may have fallen asleep at the wheel as he travels this curved road daily to and from home and knew it well.
