Overnight fires broke out around the Crown Ridge Subdivision and residents were evacuated. Throughout the night fire crews held fire lines and this morning fire and needs assessments continue. Evacuations remain in place for Crown Ranch and those areas evacuated on FM 1486 yesterday.
No additional structures were damaged in Montgomery and no injuries reported. In Montgomery County 4 homes have been destroyed since the fires erupted on Monday.
Road closures include FM 1486 from FM 1774 north to Jackson Road and FM 1774 west to the Waller County. FM 1488 remains open to the Waller County Line.
Incident Statistics:
Approx. 12,500 total acres / Montgomery Co. approx. 3500 acres
Estimated 50 % contained.
Areas still are subject to flare-ups and/or fires spreading with little to no notice.
120 people were housed in the shelter in Montgomery County. (Wildwood Methodist Church 8911 FM 1488).
