Wednesday morning at approximately 9:11am deputies from the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constables Office were dispatched to an attempt to locate on Rayford Road in which a 10-year-old male was reportedly driving his mother’s SUV. According to the mother of the child, he had taken the vehicle without permission from the driveway of the family’s residence in the Oak Ridge Forest Subdivision located off Richards Road. Dispatch advised the mother was following the vehicle in the area of Rayford Road @ I-45.
At approximately 9:13am, K-9 Deputy B. Eyring observed the vehicle on Rayford Road at Wild Rose. At that time, the 10-year-old driver slammed on the brakes of the vehicle and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old white male. There were no injuries and less than $1000 in damages to both vehicles. Deputies were then able to approach and secure the suspect and the vehicle without incident. The 10-year-old suspect was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (State Jail Felony) and released to the custody of Juvenile Services.
