$1000 REWARD FOR HIT AND RUN

The Grimes County Crime Stoppers is seeking information which leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for a fatal auto-pedestrian accident on State Highway 105 East near Navasota.

On the date of Monday, December 18th 2017 at 10:24 AM, Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputies and State Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division were called to the area of State Highway 105 East, located east of the City of Navasota. Officers were dispatched to the location in regards to a report of an individual lying in the ditch that was non­ responsive and determined to be deceased.

Upon further investigation it was determined that Michael Bell, 35, of Navasota was believed to be walking westbound on the shoulder when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.

Information received by Investigators indicate, Bell was seen walking in the area early that morning in dense fog alongside of the roadway.

On the date of Wednesday, December 20th 2017, Investigators were able to determine through examination of evidence that the vehicle involved was believed to be a 1997-2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck possibly dark green in color. (ComparisonPhoto Attached)

DPS Troopers and Investigators are asking that if you have any information in regards to this incident or whereabouts of a vehicle matching the above description to contact the Grimes County Crime stoppers.

Vehicle involved in the hit and run is a 1997-2000 Toyota Tacoma, may be dark green in color, unknown if regular or extended cab. Involved in fatality hit and run on 12/18/2017. Vehicle will have broken headlamp lens and missing antenna.
Damage to front end will be evident. It is possible that the driver did not realize what they hit and are asked to come forward.
