$10,000 REWARD FOR ESCAPED PRISONER

DPS PRESS RELEASE

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Alberto Morales, 41, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list, and a $10,000 cash reward is now offered for information leading to his capture. Morales was being transported through Texas when he stabbed a Miami detective multiple times and escaped.  He should be considered extremely dangerous, and local, state, and federal authorities are actively searching for the suspect. All tips can be offered anonymously.

The escape took place at approximately 11:20 p.m. in Grapevine when Morales stabbed the detective while being transported from Miami, Fla., to a state prison in Nevada. He has a violent criminal past and received two life sentences for aggravated sexual assault.  The injured officer is currently hospitalized. For more information on the suspect and the escape, please view his wanted bulletin at: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/Texas10MostWanted/fugitiveDetails.aspx?id=183.
