18 WHEELER GOES OFF BRIDGE INTO CREEK BELOW KILLING DRIVER

Just after midnight, an 18-wheeler was traveling east on FM 834 in Liberty County when Troopers believe he fell asleep, The flatbed truck crossed the westbound lanes, hit the bridge rail. After taking out close to 100 feet of railing the truck went off the bridge flipping upside down and landing in the creek below. Hardin and Daisetta Fire Departments worked almost 2 hours to free the 34-year old male who was deceased. FM 834 remains closed as heavy-duty wreckers recover the 18 wheeler. HAZMAT International is on the scene to start the massive cleanup that includes several hundred gallons of diesel in the creek.
