18 WHEELER OBLITERATED IN CRASH

Just before 2am Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an 18-wheeler that crashed on SH 99 southbound at Community Drive. Reports were the truck was fully involved in fire. Plum Grove Fire arrived on the scene to just a small fire which was quickly extinguished. An 18-wheeler carrying an Amazon shipment hit the gore point between the exit ramp of Community and the main lanes. The truck then jumped the 4-foot wall and landed between it. Over 50 gallons of oil, and fluids were dumped on the ground along with close to 200 gallons of diesel fuel. The driver suffered a bump to the head and was transported to Kingwood Hospital. He was walking around when the units arrived. HAZMAT International is on the scene starting the massive cleanup. The truck’s axles, engine, and transmission were ripped away in the crash.
