18 WHEELER LANDS ON CAR BEFORE BURNING IN PORTER

Just after 7am Wednesday morning an 18 wheel dump truck was heading west on FM1314 near Partners Way when he lost power steering and swerved across the two eastbound FM1314 lanes with heavy traffic. He then continued through a ditch knocking the driver unconscious. The truck continued through a chain link fence onto Campbell Ready Mix property, hit a barrier and landed on top of a 1994 Buick Regal owned by Lawrence Thomas of New Caney.
The driver was found next to the truck just before it erupted into flames burning Tatum’s car, a 1994 Ford F150 owned by David Crawford of Splendora and a 2000 Jeep Cherokee owned by Ray Tatum of New Caney.
The driver of the 18 wheeler was taken to Kingwood Hospital in stable condition.
The vehicles were parked in a lot owned by Campbell Ready Mix and is used as a parking area. They vehicles in the lot were unoccupied at the time of the crash.
Porter Frie Department responded to extinguish the fire and Milstead Environmental was dispatched to clean up a diesel fuel spill from the accident and fire.
