Sunday night DPS troopers stopped a white Dodge Charger northbound on US 59 near Fostoria on a traffic violation. As the trooper approached the vehicle a strong odor of marijuana was present. As the trooper spoke with the driver and passenger, the passenger admitted that they had been smoking marijuana in the vehicle.
With the assistance of the two other Montgomery County Deputies a suitcase was found in the backseat with what appeared to be a wrapped watermelon. Further investigation determined the source of the odor was the package. In it they discovered approximately 20 pounds of marijuana. Both were detained and transported to East Montgomery County Annex for further questioning. Earl Maurice LeBlanc, 37 of 1806 Kansas in Baytown is charged with possession of marijuana more than 5 pounds but less than 50 pounds
