2011 FAHRRADREISEN BICYCLE RIDE

The Tomball German Heritage Festival and the Texas Wheels of Justice have joined up to organize a fahrradreisen (pronounced Far Rad Risen) – that’s German for bicycle tour or rally.

The Fahrradreisen is part of the Tomball German Hertigage Festival which begins Friday March 25 and runs through Sunday March 27, 2011. The ride will start at the Festival grounds so bring your whole family and enjoy a full day of riding, music, crafts and great food!

The organizers are donating all proceeds from the ride to Texas Wheels of Justice and the Greater Houston Police Survivors (G.H.C.O.P.S) . Our sponsors have partnered with the ride organizers to cover the ride costs. Local agencies and organizations have donated their time and services for motorcycle escort and break point support to Rebuild Shattered Lives One Pedal at a Time.

City of Tomball, Harris and Montgomery county agencies and motorcycle escorts will be coordinating to make this ride fun and safe. They are in contact with the support team for S.A.G. and are in touch with local authorities for any emergency assistance needed.

Are You Ready to Ride?

The Fahrradreisen organizers and sponsors want cyclists to have a safe, fun ride.

Please check the mechanical condition of your bicycle and other equipment; carry personal ID and tools and parts for any emergency situation. All riders must wear a helmet and comply with all traffic signs and laws along the route.

The 2011 Fahrradreisen bike rally offers 3 routes from the 10 mile family ride to the 51 mile route through NorthWest Harris and Montogomery counties.

The 10 mile route loops through Tomball and is a great ride for beginners, families or cyclists who want to get a ride in before the Festival activities start.

The 41 and 51 mile routes wind through North Harris and South Montgomery county featuring open roads and great views. These rides are a great way to train for the upcoming BP MS-150 Houston to Austin ride in April.
