35-YEARS FOR DWI

Stroud, Lewis Ray

Lewis Ray Stroud, 59, of Conroe, was sentenced in the 221st District Court by visiting Judge Leslie Yates today. Stroud, who is considered a habitual 3rd time DWI Offender, was giver 35 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He has been incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail since Jan. 15 of this year when he was arrested in the 1400 block of Mary Ann in Conroe by a Conroe police officer. That back time will count toward his parole eligibility for which he must serve at least one-quarter of his sentence.

Stroud started his DWI convictions when he was arrested in Harris County on November 19, 1988 for which he was given probation which was soon revoked.

Then on September 20, 1993 he was arrested for DWI in Matagorda County.

On April 8, 2004 he was convicted again in Harris County for DWI and sentenced to 4 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Once again, on May 3, 2010, he was arrested in Harris County for DWI and was sentenced to 3 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Stroud also has a long list of arrests for other crimes from possession of marijuana, to credit card abuse, driving while license suspended, possession of prohibited weapon, criminal mischief, evading arrest, and reckless injury to a child.
