As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, Splendora Police Officer Ryan Simpson was out of surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Doctors said the surgery was a success. Officer Simpson is now in the Intensive Care Unit. No specific details pertaining to his injuries are available at this time.
The Texas Highway Patrol (DPS) based in New Caney has organized a blood drive for Officer Simpson. (See attached flyer).
