On Saturday, March 12, 2011 at approximately 1:39 am, Conroe Police officers were dispatched a report of an infant who had stopped breathing at a residence in the 300 block of Crest Hill Dr. in Conroe.
Officers arrived on scene and conducted an initial investigation. They observed what appeared to be signs of abuse on the five-week old child. CID was notified and an investigation was opened.
Preliminary autopsy results were obtained on Sunday, March 13, 2011, indicating that the child’s death had not been due to natural causes, and that he had suffered a broken neck. There were also indications that other injuries had been sustained previously.
On Monday, March 14 2011, charges were filed against the parents of the infant. They are identified as Jimmie Hood, of Conroe, and Dennette Williams, of Conroe. Both have been taken to the Montgomery County jail and booked for Injury to a Child. An additional charge of Fail to Report a Felony was also filed against Hood.
