The fires that erupted in the area of FM 1774 and FM 1486 were quickly brought under control with the use of air assets and evacuations of this area have been halted for now. Firefighters remain in the area extinguishing small fires and hot spots as they are discovered.
Fire assets from all areas of Montgomery County and surrounding areas have battled these fires for well over 24 hours. Over 7500 acres have been burned in a three county area based on estimates by the Forest Service and no additional loss of homes or injuries have been reported in Montgomery County.
