68-Year-Old Arrested Selling Meth

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit have received several complaints from local citizens regarding what they suspected as being a drug operation at 408 Pate Street in Cleveland, Texas. After receiving these complaints an investigation that extended over a period of time was conducted which resulted in the arrest of Kenneth Turner of that address for drug charges.

On Thursday, LCSO Interdiction Unit deputies obtained a search warrant that was signed by Liberty County 75th District Court Judge Mark Morefield, for the residence on Pate Street. The Liberty County SWAT team executed the search warrant with the assistance of the Cleveland Police Department, Montgomery County Constable PCT. 4 and the SWAT Medics from Liberty County EMS. At the time of the execution of the search warrant there were four people located inside the house who were all detained for a period of time until the investigation could be completed.  There were no injuries. The location of this arrest was within 1000 feet of the Northside Elementary School in Cleveland however, there was no indication, at this time, that drugs were being distributed to the school children.

During the search of the residence, Deputies recovered approximately 28 grams of Methamphetamine.

Kenneth Turner, age 68 with a DOB of 12-13-48 was charged with one count of Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, which is a first degree Felony and placed in the Liberty County jail.
