$8 MILLION LOTTO TICKET BOUGHT IN HUMBLE

The Wednesday Texas Lottery had a jackpot of $8 million dollars. The winning numbers 03-06-24-36-38-49. After the drawing one winning ticket was an exact match. That ticket was purchased at Ann’s All Season Foods at 607 Wilson Road in Humble.  It was a Quick Pick with the cash option. The estimated cash value of this winning ticket is said to be $5,539,782 then consider the person pays the taxes they still will walk away with $4,154,836. The store that sold the ticket will be awarded 5%.

They are in a lot better shape than the lottery commission as this win has put a shortage on the lottery fund by an estimated $2,337,602. That is an estimated loss to the Texas Lottery

Back on August 13, 2010 the Dallas Morning News addressed the lottery shortfall in a copyrighted story.

In that story it explained how the lottery commission has set $4 million as a starting figure for the game and increasing it $1 million for each drawing even if ticket sales don’t cover it.

With Texans getting lucky over the past month the lottery commission is paying out more than normal.

After the July 31, 2010 win of $21 million the lotto fund was $1,208,683 dollars in the red.

After the August 11, 2010 win of $6 million the lotto fund was once again in the red at $2,173,067

Next came an August 28, 2010 win of  $8 million dollars shorted the fund to a new balance of $2,280.726 in the red.
