At 6:48 am this morning, a Montgomery ISD bus was involved in a crash on FM 2854 and Mail Route Road. MCHD responded to the scene. DPS continues to investigate. However, MCHD medics and Montgomery Fire Fighters evaluated all the students on the bus. Six were transported by MCHD and an additional two by parents. The road was closed for several hours. The Montgomery ISD released a statement a short time ago:
“This morning, a Montgomery ISD bus transporting students was involved in an accident near Mail Route Rd. and FM 2854. All students on the bus were evaluated by EMS personnel. After evaluation, it was determined to be in the best interest of six students to be transported to the hospital for further assessment. Two additional students were transported by their parents for further evaluation. All other students were either released to their parents at the scene or transported to school on an alternate bus. We appreciate the quick and coordinated response of local law enforcement and EMS.”.
