Accused Child Predator Faces Multiple Charges

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX On Wednesday, Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable’s CID Special Victim’s Unit, in conjunction with the Houston Police Department’s ICAC Division, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, executed a residential and arrest warrant at a residence in Harris County.

The warrants stemmed from a proactive investigation conducted by Constable Gable’s ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Detective. Constable Gable’s ICAC Detective received information related to two juvenile victims who were allegedly being sexually abused by Shawn Joseph Mullen of Houston. Mullen was allegedly actively chatting online detailing the assaults of the juveniles.  The investigation led to an arrest warrant for Mullen related to the alleged sexual abuse that occurred in Montgomery County. The residential search warrant led to the recovery and rescue of two juvenile victims. Upon apprehension of Mullen, he was arrested for Indecency with a Child By Contact, with several additional charges pending in Harris County to include possession and promotion of child pornography, production of child pornography, and more. This case is ongoing. Currently Mullen is being held in the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe with no bond set.

Constable Gable thanked the City of Jersey Village Police Department for their assistance with the juveniles in this case, as well as Child Protection Services.

The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office is a proud member of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.
