HARRIS COUNTY, TX– A man with a prior DWI conviction is facing new charges after police say they found him intoxicated behind the wheel of a vehicle Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 20500 block of Cypresswood Drive following reports of a male passed out inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered the man, later identified as 29-year-old Jayson Direnzo, asleep in the driver’s seat.
After waking Direnzo, Deputies observed multiple signs of intoxication. He was asked to perform a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which allegedly confirmed he was impaired. A background check revealed Direnzo had a prior conviction for Driving While Intoxicated.
“Jayson Direnzo was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense,” Constable Mark Herman said. “His bond was set at $1,000 out of County Court 8.”
No injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
