Additional Arrest in the Shooting Death of Convenience Store Clerk

The Cleveland Police Department’s lead Investigator Sgt. Kevin Cooke and Texas Rangers Ryan Clendennen and Brandon Bess have arrested two additional suspects

in connection with the death of convenience store clerk Conbino “Bino” Castro on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.

According to Investigators further facts, evidence, and other collected components led

to the two suspects being arrested. One of the suspects taken in police custody was a 15 year juvenile, and the second suspect was an adult Frank Hernandez, Jr. age 17, both are from Cleveland, Texas. Hernandez was arrested around midnight on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.

The juvenile is being detained in a juvenile holding facility, and Hernandez has been charged with Capital Murder, and his bond was set by the City of Cleveland Municipal Judge Bobby Steely at $2,000,000.00. Hernandez remains in custody at the Liberty County Jail. The juvenile originally detained on Friday, December 18, 2015 has been released after investigators received corroborating information that did not reflect his involvement in the case.

According to Cleveland Police Chief Darrel Broussard, “investigators are confident that the four suspects currently in police custody are all affiliated with this heinous crime”.
