ALERT MCSO DEPUTY TAKES DOWN ROBBERS MINUTES AFTER IT WAS REPORTED

Just after 9 pm Sunday night a robbery was reported on Silver Oak Drive in the Cumberland Subdivision. The victim also reported he had been pistol-whipped. A vehicle description was immediately broadcast. An alert Montgomery County District 3 Deputy responding to the call happened to look at the parking lot of the Circle K Store at Sorters and FM 1314 when he spotted a silver car matching the description. He notified dispatch and turned into the parking lot. A Hispanic male was exiting the store. When the deputy questioned him his answers caused suspicion. He was detained immediately. A backup unit had just arrived and walked up to the vehicle. He was able to get the black male in the passenger seat out and detain him. As he did he discovered the passenger was sitting on a pistol. The deputies were able to identify the driver as Russell Brent Muchow, 18, of Nacogdoches and the passenger as Jamarcus Donel Polley, 20, of Lufkin. Inside the vehicle the found 5 pounds of marijuana packaged, 4 pistols, one which was reported stolen in Angelina County. Also, they found several thousand dollars in a ziplock bag. Units responding to the victim’s home determined he was not seriously injured but was going to go seek medical attention. Polley was transported by MCHD to the hospital after complaining of breathing issues and later transported to the Montgomery County Jail and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana less than 5-pounds. Muchow was transported to the Montgomery County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana less than 5-pounds. No bond has been set for either.
