On Sunday August 29 deer hunters working on their stands in San Jacinto County near FM 3081 and Bill Hale Road discovered a large area of marijuana plants growing in a densely wooded area.
Those deer hunters then contacted the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office who responded to the scene. The Sheriff then contacted DPS Narcotics and Texas Parks and Wildlife who also responded to the scene and assisted confiscating the fully matured plants.
The street value on these plants is $1,999,000
Sheriff James Walter said,”I appreciate the law abiding citizens of this county for contacting us when they have knowledge of a possible crime.” He continued, “It takes the help of every citizen to try to put a stop to drug activity and crime throughout this county.”
