Late yesterday evening members of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit were in the Ames area of Liberty County attempting to locate Burnell, Sedric. Mr. Burnell was a wanted Fugitive from here in Liberty County.
After making several contacts with persons in the greater Ames area, Mr. Burnell received word the LCSO Crime Suppression Unit were in the area attempting to locate him (Burnell). A short time later, LCSO Communications received a 9-1-1 call where a male on the line indicated and identified himself as Sedric Burnell. The caller provided our Dispatcher with his location at a residence in Ames and indicated he wanted to surrender.
Deputies from the C.S.U. proceeded to the undisclosed location where Mr. Burnell exited said location surrendering without incident. Mr. Burnell indicated he didn’t believe the Sheriff’s Office would come looking for him. At last report, he (Burnell) along with others citizens in the Ames area and throughout Liberty County are now aware, the C.S.U. of the Sheriff’s Office will in fact continue to look for and apprehend any person wanted for a crime or stop any criminal activity which they become aware of through pro-active investigations or citizens providing valuable information (crime stopper tips).
