On January 15, 2022, at approximately 2:04 PM, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an apartment at 505 Cypress Station in reference to a shooting. A female called 911 and stated her brother had just shot her stepdad. A security guard responded to the apartment and detained the shooter. He also recovered the firearm used in the incident from the shooter. Deputies and EMS arrived on the scene to find an adult male with two gunshot wounds to the chest. The male was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. The suspect was taken into custody by HCSO deputies.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene and are conducting the investigation. Witnesses advised investigators the suspect entered the apartment and shot his stepfather several times. Witnesses did not why the suspect shot his stepfather.
The suspect was transported to HCSO Homicide and interviewed. He stated he blacked out when he entered the apartment and only came to when being handcuffed by deputies.
Dekalon Perry, who has no known criminal history, was charged with murder and booked into the HC Jail.
