Early this morning Montgomery County deputies took a report of a stolen Durango off Old Houston Road. A few hours later that Durango drove into a used car lot on FM 1314 near Lazy Lane. Deputies spotted it as the woman fled barefoot into the woods. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy Constables. A perimeter was set and a MCSO K-9 responded to the scene. Not long after the dog started the search deputies close by flushed the woman out. She was arrested for evading and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Several stolen vehicles have been recovered in the past week. Last Wednesday a stolen vehicle from Cleveland was pursued in the Whispering Pines Subdivision. The driver drove into the woods and fled on foot. He was captured later in the week on South Walker Road after he ran from deputies on foot. On Saturday evening a stolen Camero was found stripped and sitting on a car dolly which it partially fell off of. That was just east of FM 1485 and SH 242. On Sunday morning early deputies recovered a vehicle of a victims who had been carjacked. The driver was arrested on FM 1485 near Baptist Encampment, his passenger fled on foot. Sunday morning MCSO recovered a Ford F-350 pickup that was stolen in Houston. This after the driver got stuck as he was attempting to steal a trailer in the East Montgomery County Industrial Park. A short time ago MCSO recovered a stolen travel trailer in the Splendora area.
